Frisco City Council plans to nominate Keurig Dr Pepper for the Texas Enterprise Zone Program as the company intends to invest $25 million locally for operational enhancements over five years, according to an MSN article. It says,
“Frisco City Council will nominate Keurig Dr Pepper Inc. for the Texas Enterprise Zone Program as the company weighs making significant investments in its local operations.
The beverage maker, co-headquartered in Frisco and Burlington, Mass., plans to invest $25 million in the Collin County community to help it manufacture, market and distribute beverages across North America.
Keurig Dr Pepper’s investment includes facility improvements and modernizations over the next five years, spanning from the purchase of new IT equipment and software to the digitization of its procurement management office.”
Frisco’s nomination for the enterprise zone program aims to retain 490 full-time jobs and create 10 more at The Star. Keurig Dr Pepper could receive up to a $1.25 million tax refund, according to a Dallas Morning News article. In it they say,
“Frisco’s nomination to the enterprise zone program would include the retention of 490 full-time jobs, along with the creation of 10 full-time jobs at The Star, the mixed-use development that includes the Dallas Cowboys headquarters. Keurig Dr Pepper employed 1,187 people at its Frisco co-headquarters as of January 2023.
The Texas Enterprise Zone Program is managed through the governor’s office. Companies must be nominated by their communities to be considered. Once enrolled in the program, companies can apply for refunds of state sales and use taxes they have paid for certain expenditures. Keurig Dr Pepper would qualify for a potential refund of $1.25 million.”
Keurig Dr Pepper, born from a 2018 merger, shifted its co-headquarters to Frisco after merging Dr Pepper Snapple Group with Keurig Green Mountain.
