Shaquille O’Neal surprises customers by paying for their meals at a Texas deli on Christmas Eve according to a USA Today article which report,
“NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal surprised customers at Kenny & Ziggy’s New York Delicatessen in Houston, Texas.
While stopping in for a quick bite on Christmas Eve, O’Neal decided to pay it forward by purchasing everyone’s meal in The Schmooze Room, the restaurant’s largest private dining area.
The restaurant posted about the kind gesture on their Facebook account and detailed the experience involving the four-time NBA champion.”
The restaurant shared the news on their Facebook account, expressing their excitement and gratitude towards the kind act of the NBA legend, calling him a “Mench” and a “great guy”. It was his first time visiting the restaurant and he loved it according to a NBCDFW article. They say,
“The restaurant posted about the kind gesture on their Facebook account and detailed the experience stating that you never know who will walk into Kenny & Ziggy’s.
“Our friend Shaq paid us a visit today. This was his first time at the new store, and (he) loved it! He is such a Mench – he bought everybody’s meal in The Schmooze Room! What a great guy,” said Kenny & Ziggy’s New York Delicatessen on Christmas Eve.”
Shaq has recently moved back to Texas, where he spent part of his childhood playing high school basketball. He recently purchased a new home in Carrollton and is known for his community work, such as his recent $20 million renovation project of the Overtown Youth Center, which included a refurbished basketball court and a charter school.
