Youtube content creators Preston Arsement and Dude Perfect from Dallas Fort-Worth have landed in the Top 10 Forbes according to a Dallas Morning News article from January 15 which reports,
“Viral sports and comedy creators Dude Perfect hauled in $20 million in revenue from their YouTube videos in 2021, making them the eighth-highest earning creators on the site.
The group of former college roommates became famous for their viral trick shot videos and stunts in 2009. Dude Perfect includes twins Coby and Cory Cotton as well as Cody Jones, Tyler Toney and Garrett Hilbert.
Their headquarters is in Frisco, and the Texas A&M grads have done plenty of collaborations with the Dallas Cowboys, Mavericks and other local organizations. The group even had a three-season series on CMT in 2019.
Preston Arsement — better known on YouTube as PrestonPlayz, his most popular channel — brought in $16 million in 2021, landing the No. 10 spot in Forbes’ ranking.
Arsement was raised in Fort Worth and calls the Dallas-Fort Worth area home. The Dallas Morning News caught up with Arsement in 2019 when he crossed the 10 million-subscriber milestone.”
The number 10 Preston Arsement holds a peculiar and special content among Forbes’ Top 10 as he recently built a video game that features the famous Squid Game. However, he later shifted from streaming content to different live content and challenges according to a Looper article from February 4. In it they say,
“Preston Arsement started out on YouTube nine years ago with the channel PrestonPlayz. His earliest content featured various video games, but had a special focus on “Minecraft.” He’s since rebranded the channel under just his first name and created a spin-off PrestonPlayz channel that exclusively publishes “Minecraft” videos.
Arsement spoke with Insider about his decision to change the focus of his channel. “I wanted to do something more than just play ‘Minecraft’ … the real life stuff is something I’m really interested in.” Now Arsement’s primary channel features challenge and competition videos, with snappy titles like “Bulletproof Glass vs World’s Strongest Man” and “I Survived 24 Hours in a Vending Machine.”
The shift worked well for Arsement. His main channel now has nearly 20 million subscribers, while his “Minecraft” channel has over 12 million subscribers, showing there’s still very much an audience for it. According to Forbes, Arsement earned roughly $16 million in 2021.”
The Top 1 in the Forbes Top 10 is the incredibly charismatic philanthropist Mr. Beast otherwise known as Jimmy Donaldson who goes the extra 10 miles to create his contents. The two Texan content creators on the other hand, rely on Night Media, a company based in DFW who develop, manage and create content for Preston and Dude Perfect.
