A tiger that had been kept as an exotic pet was seen leisurely strolling around a Texas neighborhood according to a WFAA 8 article from May 10th. In it they say:
“A Houston man is now in custody after his pet Bengal tiger was seen roaming his neighborhood late Sunday evening. However, the tiger is still missing, according to the Houston Police Department.
. . .
Cuevas’ neighbors alerted authorities and the community when they saw his tiger prowling lawn to lawn Sunday night. Reportedly, it escaped after jumping a fence. “
This is not the first case of a tiger free-roaming a Texas neighborhood. A large tiger was found in an abandoned home two years ago according to a WFAA 8 article from February 12, 2019. In it they say:
“A large tiger found in abandoned southeast Houston house is on its way to a new home Tuesday morning.
Tyson the tiger, although the sex of the animal has not been confirmed, was transported from BARC Animal Shelter to an undisclosed animal sanctuary in Texas.
The location is not being made public while an investigation into who owns the tiger continues.”
Maybe the Tiger King can take care of them while their owners are occupied.
