A new steakhouse called Crown Block which aims to be as iconic as The Ball is set to open in the Reunion Tower according to a Larry Lease article. They say,
“Dallas’ most iconic landmark Reunion Tower will soon be home to a new steakhouse, Crown Black. Dallas News reports that this new restaurant is scheduled to open in Spring 2023. Husband and wife team Elizabeth Blau and Chef Kim Cangeenwalla are bringing their experience and restaurant to the Lone Star state. They have opened restaurants in Las Vegas and Vancouver.
One of Dallas’ most famous landmarks is Reunion Tower and now it is getting ready to welcome a new steakhouse in 2023. Dallas News reports that Crown Block is set to open in Spring 2023. Husband and wife business partners Elizabeth Blau and Chef Kim Cangeenwalla are bringing their restaurant to the Lone Star State. The two have previously opened restaurants in Las Vegas and Vancouver.”
The restaurant’s menu will consist of fine steak, seafood, and plant-based cuisine according to a Dallas Innovates article which reports,
”According to Hunt Realty, Crown Block will offer a culinary experience beyond that of the average steakhouse, complemented by an approachable, stylish environment in celebration of all things grilled, seared and roasted. A balance between steak, seafood, and plant-based cuisine, the restaurant will feature ingredients from regional farms, ranches, and the Gulf of Mexico, Hunt said in its statement.
Crown Block’s Rare Steak program will include Prime Beef, Texas Wagyu, and Japanese A5 Wagyu. The restaurant also will feature a sushi and chilled seafood display as well as a dessert bar with pastry chefs in action. Its beverage menu will feature a substantial wine list, in addition to a carefully curated cocktail program.”
Crown Block will fill the space previously occupied by Wolfgang Puck’s Five Sixty restaurant which had to close its doors due to the pandemic. The new restaurant will be able to accommodate 175 seated guests and 250 standing guests.
