Drawing inspiration from To Kill a Mockingbird’s Atticus Finch, co-owner Imran Sheikh opens up Finch, the newest restaurant with a great happy hour feature according to a Dallas Morning News article. They say,
“The Finch is at Mockingbird Station, at a shopping center where Mockingbird Lane intersects Central Expressway in Dallas. “I’m thinking about Mockingbird Station,” says co-owner Imran Sheikh. “I’m thinking about the book To Kill A Mockingbird. And Atticus Finch, the main character.”
The Finch offers lunch, dinner, happy hour and brunch service in a casual but upscale restaurant with windows on two sides showing a busy Mockingbird Lane. For nearly 20 years, this restaurant space was Cafe Express, then it sat vacant, a question mark to those of us who drove past it many times a day. It seemed like a prime spot, with big visibility, for a restaurant.
Happy hour here has a real opportunity. Monday through Friday starting at 3 p.m., cocktails, bubbles, oysters and appetizers are half off. With its location at the intersection of East Dallas and the Park Cities, close to Southern Methodist University, half-price nibbles seem like a fine way to go at a restaurant where it would be easy to spend $50 per person on an entree and drinks at dinnertime otherwise.”
Finch will be offering its guests and customers a great menu contemplated through four courses which was brought and prepared by Chef Eric Freidline.
- BBQ GLAZED BACON WRAPPED JUMBO PRAWNS
or
- MINI BEEF TENDERLOIN WELLINGTONS
- CREAMY CAULIFLOWER SOUP
or
- CLASSIC FRENCH ONION SOUP
- GRILLED 6 OZ BLACK ANGUS FILET MIGNON
or
- GRILLED HALIBUT FILET
- FLOURLESS DARK CHOCOLATE CAKE
or
- BUTTERSCOTCH CINNAMON BREAD PUDDING
Of course, the Finch will be holding a menu for children which shall include sliders, grilled cheese or pasta. The selection will also include pepperoni, Buffalo chicken, chicken tikka pizza or margherita.
