Mayweather Boxing + Fitness in Plano

April 7, 2022 by Debbie 1 Comment

Undefeated boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. will be opening his first boxing and fitness place in Plano to offer different training and workout classes according to an NBC 5 DFW article from March 23. They say,

“A new boxing and fitness center founded by Floyd Mayweather will soon open Plano.

The facility is set to open in April and will be located at 18484 Preston Road #300A.

Mayweather’s boxing center provides an experience involving various fitness stations and immersive training, a news release said. Workouts combine boxing, strength, and cardio.

Mayweather Boxing + Fitness was founded in 2018 and is based in Los Angeles. The boxing and fitness concept has more than 50 locations across the U.S.”

The store will be managed and watched over by Alvaro Bravo of Mexico who earned the trust of the boxing champion according to a Franchising article from March 29. They say,

“This will be Bravo’s first location opening in the Dallas area. A serial entrepreneur and successful businessman in Mexico City, Bravo decided to move to the United States and bring Mayweather Boxing + Fitness to Plano West. He has always had a passion for fitness and wellness and became a certified health coach to further immerse himself in the industry.

“I’ve always been a firm believer that a boxing workout is the best all-around workout you can do,” said Bravo. “Opening my own Mayweather Boxing + Fitness studio not only lets me get back to a healthier version of me, but also gives me the chance to operate a business that pushes people to grow to their full potential and produce true community role models.”

However, a lot of people from the internet did not entirely welcome the soon to open fitness and boxing place. In a Facebook post, one commented,

“One in Austin, better off going to a local club. This isn’t for anyone looking to actually train, it’s more fun based or someone looking for a different cardio workout”

Another sarcastically said,

“Here, you’ll learn to run around the ring!!”

One agreed,

“They’re going to be doing a lot of running”

One suggested another name for it,

“The Hit and Run club”

Despite these, the place has already opened and offered VIP classes back in March but the actual and official opening is on April 2.
