Ex-Cowboys coach Jason Garrett, along with Babe Laufenberg and Julian Barsotti, opens Caffe Lucca in 2024, honoring Laufenberg’s late son, Luke, according to a CW33 article. They say,
“Former Dallas Cowboys coach Jason Garrett is opening an Italian restaurant called Caffe Lucca in Dallas in 2024.
Garrett is partnering with former Cowboys player Babe Laufenberg and restaurateur Julian Barsotti. The restaurant is named after Laufenberg’s son Luke, who passed away in 2019 following a two-year battle against a rare form of lymphoma.”
Caffe Lucca will grace Oak Lawn Avenue, taking over the former TJ’s Seafood space next to Barsotti’s. Barsotti envisions an all-encompassing Italian cafe experience, including to-go specialties, according to a Dallas Morning News article. They say,
“Caffe Lucca is expected to open next door to Barsotti’s, the Italian restaurant on Oak Lawn Avenue formerly known as Carbone’s. The restaurant will move into the former TJ’s Seafood, which closed in October 2023.
“It kinda just clicked,” Barsotti said of the open restaurant space. He’d already been scouting for real estate with his pals to open an Italian cafe that would serve breakfast, lunch, cocktails and dinner. Caffe Lucca will also likely sell Italian specialties to go like house-made ricotta and meatballs.”
Caffe Lucca, situated at 4212 Oak Lawn Ave in 2024, promises a comprehensive dining experience with breakfast, lunch, dinner, cocktails, and tempting to-go Italian specialties, according to an Audacy article. They say,
“The restaurant will offer breakfast, lunch, dinner and cocktails, and will also likely sell Italian specialties to-go, like house made ricotta and meatballs.
Caffe Lucca will be at 4212 Oak Lawn Ave. in 2024.”
Oak Lawn and Wycliff avenues will host Caffe Lucca, continuing an Italian-American story. Co-owner Laufenberg’s coffee-shop dream aligns with creating a unique experience.
