Hutchins Family Resolves Lawsuit, Opens Original Roy Hutchins Barbeque with Family Recipes, according to a Dallas Morning News article. They say,
“After a trademark lawsuit that pitted two Hutchins Barbeque siblings against their father and brother, the family has called a truce.
In May 2023, the family agreed that father Roy Hutchins and the eldest of his three sons, Wesley Hutchins, could use the family name on a new barbecue joint as long as it doesn’t match the name of two existing Hutchins Barbeques in McKinney and Frisco.
After that agreement, the Original Roy Hutchins Barbeque in Trophy Club opened June 9, 2023, using some of the family recipes that have been part of their barbecue businesses for decades. Wesley Hutchins’ son Zack Hutchins has joined the Original Roy Hutchins restaurant team.”
